Symbolism Hidden in Metal

Every inch of this sword carries a message. The crossguard and pommel are richly decorated with a combination of silver and gold finishes. The centre of the guard is dominated by the iconic symbol of the Square and Compass, referencing the origins of Freemasonry in the guilds of medieval stonemasons and architects. The compass symbolizes the spirit, and the square represents matter or morality. The handle is wrapped in blue velvet and reinforced with metal bands, ensuring a comfortable and firm grip. The 420 stainless steel blade is adorned with deep, detailed etching featuring floral and esoteric motifs, which is typical for Toledo production.

History and Usage

Freemasonry, as we know it today, formed in the 17th century from the brotherhoods of cathedral builders.
