The sword measures approximately 40.94 in (104 cm) overall. Its straight blade is made from hardened stainless steel and features extensive etched decoration on both sides. Clearly visible motifs associated with Freemasonry include the square and compasses, the letter G and various geometric devices. Chequered patterns and other stylised symbols add to the design, giving the blade a distinctive ceremonial appearance.

The guard and pommel are decorative castings made from Zamak. The substantial guard has a silver-coloured finish with blue panels and raised ornamentation. Its ends repeat a geometric device incorporating the letter G. The central section features a relief bird with outstretched wings surrounded by foliate ornament. The silver-and-blue colour scheme continues across other elements of the hilt.

The grip is covered in black leather and encircled along its length by fine gold-coloured spiral wire. A large circular pommel contains a blue central field with a raised winged motif. The combination of the dark grip, silver-coloured metalwork, blue accents and gold-coloured winding gives the sword an unmistakably formal and decorative character.
