Pavel Leier
Pavel Leier is a Czech craftsman specialising in producing replicas of historical weapons and armour. His product portfolio includes swords, daggers, axes, rapiers, falchions, halberds, spears, maces, armour, cuirasses, plate armour, knives, helmets, shields, and gauntlets.
His workshop is based in Rašovice near Týniště nad Orlicí, Czechia, part of his farmstead where he lives and even runs a pub. Pavel trained as a locksmith in vocational school, and he’s been working with metal ever since.

What makes Pavel Leier’s products special?
Most of his creations are swords and daggers designed for practical use, such as stage combat and re-enactments of historical battles. He can also craft full plate armour and props for historical performances.

Did you know… Pavel’s journey into the trade began during his years in a historical fencing group. That’s where he got his nickname, Bivoj (a reference to a legendary Czech warrior, symbolising strength and bravery). He’s collaborated on the production of Czech as well as international historical films and fairy tales. Although his trade is physically demanding, it also requires a great deal of patience and creativity.
