Masonic Grand Master Sword – Luxury Edition by Marto

Symbolism of Power: Gold, Flame, and Spiritual Dominance

This sword is the essence of Masonic symbolism. The hilt is made of Zamak alloy and plated with 24-karat gold, giving it an irresistible shine. The grip is inlaid with luxurious velvet in a chestnut brown to maroon shade, which contrasts with the gold fittings.

However, the most important feature is on the crossguard. The central medallion bears the symbol of the Square and Compass. Notice a crucial detail: both legs of the compass lie over the square. In the Masonic hierarchy, this signifies that the spirit (compass) fully controls the matter (square) – the symbol of the Master rank. The guard is further decorated with silver appliqués: on one side you will find a mallet and trowel, on the other the Eye of Providence (All-Seeing Eye) above an open book. The ends of the guard are adorned with the faces of the Sun and Moon, symbolizing the duality of day and night. The pommel carries an interlaced pentagram on a deep red background.

The Flaming Blade: Guardian of Paradise

The dominant feature of the sword is its blade made of AISI 420 stainless steel. Its wavy shape (flamberge) is not just an aesthetic flourish. In symbolism, it refers to the flaming sword that guarded the gate to the Garden of Eden, and in Freemasonry, it represents constant vigilance and the protection of sacred space. The blade is also perforated in the upper third, adding lightness and elegance.

Sword Care

This sword is a jewel that deserves gentle handling:

  • Velvet: Avoid wetting the velvet handle. Remove dust only with dry air or a very fine brush.
  • Gold Plating: Do not use abrasive pastes or chemicals on the gold-plated parts. Simply wipe them gently with a soft cotton cloth.
  • Blade: Stainless steel is durable, but to maintain high shine, we recommend treating it occasionally with preservation oil.

Safety Warning

Please bear in mind that this is a heavy decorative item (over 2.1 kg / 4.6 lbs).

  • Decoration Only: The wavy blade and zinc hilt are not constructed for any kind of combat or cutting practice. The sword could break upon impact.
  • Installation: If you plan to hang the sword on a wall, use massive wall plugs and high-quality mounts capable of supporting a weight of over 2 kilograms.

This sword is the perfect gift for collectors of esoteric items or as a crowning piece for a thematically styled interior.
