This katana is the epitome of modern swordsmanship. The 77.2 cm (approx. 30.4") blade of 1060 steel has the strength and edge to outperform many more expensive swords. It's a tool designed for performance. The TPR handle is secured with screws and terminates in a massive polished steel pommel with a lanyard hole. The guard (*tsuba*) has a practical, slightly tapered elliptical shape.
The sword comes with a wooden scabbard (*saya*) wrapped in elegant black leather. Instead of the traditional cotton *sageo* cord, a durable genuine leather cord is used. The Honshu Boshin Katana represents incredible value and performance in one package. It is the choice for those seeking a reliable and modern cutting weapon without unnecessary frills.
Thanks to its high-quality 1060 steel, this sword is fully functional and suitable for cutting tests (*tameshigiri*) on light to medium targets (e.g., *tatami* mats, water-filled PET bottles). It is not designed for contact sparring or cutting hard objects!

Care Instructions
The 1060 carbon steel blade is susceptible to rust. After each use, especially after cutting, carefully clean the blade of any debris (e.g., mat residue) and moisture. Dry it and apply a thin coat of oil (we recommend weapon maintenance oil). Do not leave the sword in a damp environment or in the scabbard if it is wet for long periods. Store it in a dry place.
Important: Never touch the blade with your bare hands! Sweat and oils from your skin can cause rapid corrosion.
