Our shimth describes the swors as „Partially handmade“, which means that the blade is forged from carbon steel and with care grounded by use of modern machines. The sword has a long wooden and hand wound grip that is very easy to handle. A robust tsuba laboriously decorated from both sides and a varnished wooden scabbard suplement this sword. The handle (tsuka), which lies between the fuchi and the kashira, consists of a hardwood core that connects to the blade tang (nakago). The wood is wrapped in genuine ray skin (samegawa), which is then wrapped in cotton tape. Underneath the cotton tape (tsukaito) are decorative elements (menuki), which are cast by hand in brass.
The protective wooden case, in which is the product packaged, comes free of charge.
