Please note: The sword is supplied with the crossguard removed for easy transport. To install it, you need to unscrew the pommel and the nut hidden under the pommel. Next, the leather-covered wooden handle must be pulled out. The handle cannot simply be removed. You can use a rubber or wooden mallet to tap the edge of the handle from the parry towards the tang. The handle is only loosely attached to the tang, so normal hand force should be sufficient. For us, it helped to give the handle a twist and pull it off after a few wiggles. Now take the crossguard in a position where its bow is pointing forwards and place it on the flat tang of the blade. Look carefully at how it fits against the base of the blade (the widest part of the blade). If it does not fit well on the blade, you can remove it and reattach it in the other position (rotated 180 degrees). Then you need to put the handle back on, place the metal washer on the blade tang and carefully tighten the nut. The last step is to screw on and tighten the pommel. Your sword is now finished and ready for use.
