This sword is a fascinating study in contrasts—Japanese form, Western myth, modern craftsmanship.
Carbon Steel Blade and the Guardian Tsuba
The sword's blade is forged from hardened carbon steel, giving it an authentic weight and appearance. For maximum visual impact, its edge is very sharp. The dominant feature of the entire sword, however, is the robust, cast guard (tsuba) with a motif of a winged, angelic being. Its surface has an ancient, dark bronze patina that adds to the gravity of the theme. The same design and finish are repeated on the hilt collar (fuchi) and pommel (kashira).
Traditional Hilt and Scabbard
The hilt (tsuka) is constructed in the traditional manner. A white imitation ray skin (same-gawa) base is tightly wrapped with a black cord (tsuka-ito). The sword comes with a classic, high-gloss black scabbard (saya) and is packaged in a protective wooden box, which you receive free of charge.

Blade Care
Unlike stainless steel, carbon steel is susceptible to rust. To keep the blade in perfect condition, it is necessary to wipe it dry regularly (especially after every touch) and apply a thin film of preservation oil (e.g., mineral oil or gun oil).
