John Lee Musashi Ichi Katana – Tribute to Japan's Greatest Swordsman

Iconic Design and Traditional Construction

The most distinctive feature of this sword is the famous tsuba (guard) in the shape of two connected rings. This minimalist design is directly attributed to Musashi. The handle (tsuka) is made of wood, covered with genuine ray skin (Same), and tightly wrapped with black cotton ribbon in the classic Hineri Maki style. A black glossy lacquered scabbard (Kuroro style) completes the elegant look of the weapon.

Blade Material and Features

The blade in Shinogi-zukuri style is hand-forged from 1045 carbon steel. To reduce weight and create an audible feedback when cutting, it features a groove (bo-hi). The blade is hardened to 50-52 HRC. The hamon line is artificially created by cross-polishing in this case (not differentially hardened), giving the sword a traditional look. The edge is sharp, and the sword can be fully disassembled (secured by two mekugi pegs).

Warning: The sword is suitable for light cutting, but 1045 is a basic carbon steel. Heavy use may cause edge wear.
