Royal Heater Shield "Richard the Lionheart" – Three Lions
The Centerpiece of Your Home Armoury
This shield is designed as an exclusive wall decoration. Its back is equipped with a sturdy chain, allowing you to easily and securely hang it in your living room, study, or hallway. Thanks to its convex shape, it has a vivid and realistic appearance. It looks best when combined with replica swords, which you can place crossed behind the shield. This creates an impressive heraldic composition that will captivate every visitor. The surface is treated, but for maintaining high shine, we recommend placing it in a dry environment.

Historical Context: The Arms of England
The motif of three lions walking with their heads turned to the observer (technically called "leopards" in heraldry) remains the Royal Arms of England to this day. This coat of arms was introduced by King Richard I the Lionheart around 1198, towards the end of his reign, after his return from the Crusade and captivity. It replaced his earlier arms featuring two lions. Richard was one of the most significant medieval monarchs, renowned for his military prowess and chivalrous behaviour, making this shield a symbol of a true warrior.
Care and Maintenance
To maintain its perfect appearance, simply dust the shield regularly with a feather duster or a soft dry cloth. Avoid using water and chemical cleaning agents, which could damage the gold-plated parts or cause streaks on the polished steel. If fingerprints appear on the metal, polish them off with a fine microfibre cloth. As the shield is made of metal, do not expose it to extreme humidity.
Important Safety Warning
Please bear in mind that this is strictly a decorative item. The shield does not have hand grips on the back, only a chain for hanging. It is not constructed for fencing, re-enactment, or contact LARP. The 1 mm thick sheet metal could deform upon impact, ruining the item. Handle the shield with care; the edges may be sharp, and due to its weight, dropping it could cause injury or property damage.
I recommend complementing this shield with a replica of Richard the Lionheart's sword from our collection to create a perfectly matched historical set.
