Decorative Insect Hashira Anime Katana with Butterfly Guard

The Heroine's Tale and the Symbolism of the Sword

In the hit manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, elite slayers fight demons using special swords known as Nichirin. Shinobu Kocho may be physically more petite and does not excel in brute strength, but her incredible speed and perfect knowledge of poisons make her a deadly opponent. Her sword is distinguished by an iconic guard (tsuba) shaped like a four-leaf clover or butterfly wings with a striking green and orange colour scheme. The engraving on the blade bears the traditional motto of the elite slayers, and the weapon itself visually embodies the elegance and danger of venomous insects.

Construction and Craftsmanship of the Replica

The blade of this stylish katana is made of carbon steel. Its surface is finished with a matte black paint, from which the silver edge line and the white Japanese characters near the guard sharply stand out. The handle (tsuka) consists of a solid plastic core over which a dark green wrap (tsuka-ito) is precisely tied, revealing a red background underneath. The striking orange and green guard provides a beautiful colour contrast to the dark handle. The wooden scabbard (saya) is lacquered in black and is adorned on the side with elegant orange ornaments evoking butterfly motifs.

Principles of Safe Use and Warnings

Strong Warning: Despite the blade being made of carbon steel, this sword is under no circumstances designed or suitable for practical use, cutting tests (tameshigiri), martial arts, or contact stage combat. The hard plastic handle is not designed structurally to absorb impacts. Any forceful strike poses a risk of irreversible damage to the weapon or severe injury to yourself and those around you. We strongly recommend using this katana exclusively as an exclusive interior decoration or as a visually stunning prop for careful cosplay and photoshoots. Always keep the weapon safely out of the reach of small children.

Caring for Your Katana

Carbon steel is naturally susceptible to rust, and therefore the weapon requires regular care so it does not lose any of its beauty. The blade must be strictly protected from moisture and aggressive sweat from hands. After every handling, gently wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth and apply a very thin layer of high-quality preservation oil (such as silicone oil). Due to the painted surface of the blade, absolutely avoid using abrasive pastes or traditional Japanese uchiko powder, which could scratch or completely wash away the coating. The black wooden scabbard only needs to be dusted regularly with a clean microfibre cloth.

For an absolutely flawless presentation of your new sword, we recommend purchasing a traditional wooden single sword stand (kake), upon which the katana will look splendid and brighten up your room.
