Medieval Cotton Dress with Lacing, The Adventuring Princess
For Princesses Who Aren't Afraid of Adventure
This Renaissance-style dress is designed with a focus on versatility and detail. The main feature is the functional lacing on both sides, which allows for significant adjustment of the waist circumference. You can tighten it for a formal and shapely look at a banquet, or loosen it for maximum freedom of movement while dancing, travelling, or fighting. Additional lacing on the forearms serves not only as decoration but also allows the sleeves to be comfortably rolled up. This dress is the ideal choice for a wide range of occasions:
- Historical Festivals and Fairs: You will feel like a true resident of a medieval town or castle.
- LARP and Cosplay: An excellent foundation for the costume of an elf, a noble lady, a healer, or any fantasy character.
- Theatrical Performances: An authentic look at an affordable price.
- Themed Weddings and Celebrations: Create an unforgettable and original outfit.
Accessorize the dress with a wide leather belt, a pouch, or a cloak to create a completely unique character appearance.
A Reflection of History in Every Stitch
The cut of this side-laced dress is based on European fashion of the late Middle Ages and early Renaissance, specifically the 14th and 15th centuries. In the English-speaking world, such a garment was known as a "kirtle" and formed the basic wardrobe for women across social classes. The fitted bodice, which emphasized the figure, was a major fashion trend of the era and distinguished the clothing of the time from the looser tunics of previous centuries.
Did You Know? Fashion as a Message
In the Middle Ages, clothing was a powerful indicator of social status. A well-fitted dress that was shaped to the body with lacing signalled wealth. Not only did it consume more fabric, but it often required the help of another person to put on, a luxury only the nobility and wealthy townspeople could afford. Even seemingly simple embroidery, like that at the neckline of this dress, increased the cost and prestige of the garment.
Size Chart and Dimensions
Before selecting your size, please carefully check the measurements below. The measurements were taken with the garment laid flat. We recommend comparing them to a piece of clothing that fits you well.

---|---|---|---|
S | approx. 84 cm (33.1") | approx. 96 cm (37.8") | approx. 143 cm (56.3") |
M | approx. 92 cm (36.2") | approx. 104 cm (40.9") | approx. 145 cm (57.1") |

XXL | approx. 116 cm (45.7") | approx. 128 cm (50.4") | approx. 151 cm (59.4") |
Note: The chest and waist measurements are double the values from the manufacturer's chart ("Chest at armhole", "Waist") to represent the actual circumference.
Garment Care
To keep your new dress beautiful and ensure it lasts for a long time, we recommend the following care:
- Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle at up to 30°C, preferably inside out to protect the embroidery. Use a mild detergent.
- Drying: We do not recommend using a tumble dryer, as the material could shrink. Allow the dress to air dry on a hanger.
- Ironing: Iron on a medium setting (for cotton), ideally from the reverse side to avoid damaging the embroidery.
