Forged Double-Bitted Fantasy Axe with Cross-Leather Wrapping
Historical Reality and the Weapon's Fantasy Design
Although the weapon is labeled with the attribute "Viking", as historians, we must set the record straight. Actual historical Vikings did not use double-bitted axes in battle at all. This imposing design featuring two symmetrical blades was primarily popularized by modern fantasy literature, movies, and role-playing games. The true two-handed historical weapons of the Norsemen were the so-called Dane axes, which possessed a single, very broad blade. However, this fact does not diminish the devastating aesthetic of this beautiful weapon in the slightest! Precisely because of its two forged heads, the axe looks incredibly menacing, making it the absolutely perfect prop for fictional worlds and fantasy role-playing.
Weapon Construction and Crucial Safety Warning
Both heads of this fantasy axe are honestly forged from massive carbon steel. The edges are slightly ground by the manufacturer to appear realistic, but they are not razor-sharp. For safety reasons, however, we must strongly warn you: this axe is under no circumstances intended for full-contact Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), buhurt, or for safe use in LARP battles against living opponents! A strike with the solid steel edge would cause severe or fatal injuries. Likewise, it is not a functional working tool designed for chopping firewood. The weapon is intended primarily as a luxurious decorative accessory for your costume and a tool for non-contact shadow training of martial forms.

Care and Maintenance of Natural Materials and Steel
The carbon steel used to forge the double-bitted head requires regular care to prevent unnecessary rusting. After every use, especially in a damp outdoor environment, you must carefully wipe both blades completely dry and preserve them with a thin layer of gun or natural oil. We highly recommend occasionally treating the wooden shaft with pure linseed oil, which will prevent the wood from drying out and cracking over the long term. Keep the cross-woven genuine leather wrapping and its secure binding near the heads supple and hydrated by using a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax.
Recommended Accessories for Your Costume
To complement this breathtaking double-bitted axe, we highly recommend purchasing a massive leather belt with a historical steel buckle, as well as a sturdy leather axe frog featuring a steel ring, which will allow you to carry this beautiful weapon comfortably and safely suspended at your side on all your fantasy expeditions.
