Viking Bearded Axe from Gotland 60cm

The high-quality axe we offer here is based upon an archaeological piece found on the Swedish island of Gotland. The axe head is hand-forged from high carbon steel and mounted on a wooden shaft.

  • Blade material: high carbon steel (not stainless!), sharp edge
  • Handle material: wood
  • Overall length (with shaft): approx. 60 cm
  • Axe head: approx. 20 x 12 cm
  • Shaft thickness: approx. 3.5 x 2 cm
  • Weight: approx. 1230 g
  • Supplied WITHOUT sheath

Specs may slightly vary from piece to piece.

The steel used here is not rust-proof and might show slight surface tarnishing in places. We recommend you to maintain the Gotlandic Viking axe on a regular basis, for example using WD40 or Ballistol Universal Oil, which is ideally suited for steel care.
