Noble Norman Leather Boots with Side Lacing and Upturned Toe
Footwear Worthy of a Noble Lord
During the High Middle Ages and the Norman expansion, footwear began to take on a highly representative function in addition to its practical one. A pointed and slightly upturned toe was a clear sign of the upper classes – it demonstrated that the wearer did not have to engage in heavy physical labour in the fields. These boots stand out with their ingenious tightening system. The lacing, routed through sturdy leather loops on both the outer and inner sides, allows for precise regulation of the boot's circumference around the ankle and calf. The brass rivets at the top edge serve as a subtle yet luxurious decoration, underscoring the overall majesty of this footwear.

Leather Care and Tips on Colours
Genuine leather requires your regular care to maintain its suppleness and durability. Straight from production, the boots are treated with a nourishing beeswax balm. Regularly rub high-quality leather oil or wax balm into the leather. The material will soften, better resist moisture, and acquire a beautiful, slightly darker patina. Always allow wet or sweaty footwear to dry very slowly at room temperature. Under no circumstances should you dry the boots near a radiant fire, on a radiator, or in direct sunlight – the leather would irreparably stiffen and crack.
The basic colours for this model are black, dark brown, and light brown (natural). If you select a different, unconventional shade in the configurator, please bear in mind that it is achieved by applying a special covering lacquer paint. This layer may crack or flake slightly over time in stressed bending areas. For occasional festival wear, this finish is adequate, but for frequent stress, we strongly recommend choosing naturally dyed leathers.
Safe Wear and Custom Tailoring
Thanks to the modern rubber sole, you will gain much better traction on smooth paving and natural terrain compared to a historical leather sole. However, due to the elongated and upturned toe, these boots are absolutely unsuitable for sports fencing, contact combat, or running – there is a high risk of tripping. They are designed for representative walking.
When selecting the custom-made sizing option, you can also choose your own shaft height. For anatomical reasons, we do not recommend choosing a height exceeding 5 cm (2 in) below the kneecap. If you wear orthotic insoles, it is absolutely essential that you physically post them to us. We will carefully seat them into your new boots to ensure perfect comfort.
We highly recommend you purchase close-fitting medieval hose and period woollen socks from our range to accompany these noble boots, bringing your costume to absolute perfection.
