Tall Dark Brown Viking Leather Boots Jarl With Pointed Toe
Historical Context And Proper Footwear Adjustment
The title Jarl (known in England as Earl) in Scandinavia and Anglo-Saxon England denoted a powerful chieftain whose position was second only to the king himself. Jarls owned vast territories, mighty ships, and commanded their own elite warbands. Their equipment had to match their prestigious status. These boots stand out not only with their elongated toe but also with a clever period fastening. If the boot is too tight or too loose across your instep or shin after putting it on, you can easily adjust it. Simply loosen the knots on the leather straps leading to the buttons (an ordinary nail, fork, or awl works great for this) and lengthen or shorten the straps exactly according to the circumference of your leg.

Leather Care And Safety Warnings
Regular care is essential to maintain the leather's durability. The boots are treated with a beeswax balm during production. Regularly remove dried mud and grease them with a high-quality leather balm or cobbler's oil. This softens and waterproofs the leather, giving it a richer patina. With any coloured surface finishes, keep in mind that under high stress, minor cracks may form over time, which is a natural characteristic of finished leather. If rain catches you on an expedition, stuff the footwear with old newspaper and let it dry very slowly at room temperature. Never dry the boots on a radiator, too close to a fire, or in harsh, direct sunlight! Also, exercise extra caution when walking or running with the elongated toe to avoid tripping.
Recommended Accessories
To achieve an absolutely perfect period look, we highly recommend purchasing medieval linen trousers and traditional woollen leg wraps (puttees) to go with these representative boots, reinforcing your calf and giving your costume a true Norse character.
