Senzo Japanese Petty Knife – 33 Layer Damascus – 150 mm

A Masterpiece with a VG10 Core

The blade is a true jewel. Its core is made of high-quality VG10 steel with a hardness of 60-61 HRC, guaranteeing long-lasting sharpness. This core is protected on the sides by 16 layers of softer stainless steel, creating a 33-layer Damascus structure. The blade surface features a finish called Tsuchime (hammered surface), created by pressing under enormous pressure. These dimples not only look stunning but also create air pockets that prevent cut ingredients from sticking to the knife.

Thoughtful Handle Design

The handle with an oval cross-section is made of black Pakkawood (resin-saturated laminated wood), which is durable and pleasant to the touch. A unique feature of this series is a red ring made of heat-resistant polymer that separates the stainless steel bolster from the wood. This element acts as a "cushion" that absorbs the different thermal expansion of metal and wood, preventing handle cracking and blade loosening.

Care and Maintenance

Damascus steel requires care. Hand wash only and dry immediately. Do not wash in a dishwasher; the harsh environment would destroy both the edge and the handle. Cut on a wooden or plastic board. The knife is not intended for prying, opening cans, or chopping bones.
