It is crafted from 440 stainless steel, and while the manufacturer specifies a mirror polish finish, visually, the blade features an attractive hammered texture which may help reduce food sticking. The "GLADIUS" logo is located near the handle. The blade has a solid thickness of approx. 2.5 mm, giving it necessary rigidity. The handle, made from dark walnut wood with a lovely grain, has a rather straight profile and is decorated with a metal bolster featuring red rings, finished with a metal end cap.
