Traditional Forging Reflected in Modern Anime
While historical Japanese swords (nihonto) adhere to strict forging rules, this piece draws its visual identity from popular anime series. Even though its compact dimensions correspond more to an historical tanto dagger, it bears all the unmistakable features of a full-sized katana. The dark blade with white characters carries the message of demon destruction in the original story. The guard (tsuba) has a unique hexagonal shape, which is highly typical for this specific character. The handle (tsuka) is formed by an imitation of the traditional diamond wrap (tsuka-ito), and the overall impression is concluded by a stylish scabbard (saya). The design of this miniature is truly a faithful copy of its animated inspiration.
Safety Guidelines and Strict Warnings
Even though the blade is forged from high-quality 420 stainless steel, we must strongly emphasise that this is a strictly decorative collectable miniature. Both the handle and scabbard are made of plastic, and the weapon does not feature a full tang (nakago) capable of absorbing impacts. This sword is under no circumstances suitable for practical use, test cutting (tameshigiri), martial arts training, or contact fencing. Dry swinging or striking objects would certainly cause the plastic parts to shatter and the blade to dangerously fly loose, presenting a massive risk of injury.
Maintaining Your Collectable Miniature
To keep your mini katana looking freshly unsheathed at all times, it requires minor but regular care. The stainless steel resists rust excellently, but human sweat from fingerprints can leave unsightly blemishes. Always gently wipe the blade with a soft microfibre cloth after handling. Occasionally, you can treat the steel with a tiny drop of gun oil. The plastic scabbard and handle simply need to be dusted with a dry cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners that could irreversibly damage the white characters on the blade and ruin the paint on the guard.
