Decorative Anime Mini Katana with Black Blade and Display Stand
A Blend of Japanese History and Modern Pop Culture
While traditional Japanese swords (nihonto) have a deep historical lineage, this piece draws its inspiration from a modern anime phenomenon. In these stories, a deep black blade often symbolises a rare trait or a specific breathing style (such as Sun Breathing). Despite its reduced scale (the total length corresponds more to a historical tanto dagger), the weapon carries the traditional elements of a Japanese sword. The guard (tsuba) is shaped like a spoked wheel, the handle (tsuka) is decorated with an imitation of the traditional wrap (tsuka-ito) over red ray skin, and the pommel (kashira) and collar (fuchi) are finished in silver. The black scabbard (saya) perfectly completes the elegant appearance of the entire set.
Safety Guidelines and Strict Warnings
Although this sword is crafted from 420 stainless steel, we must explicitly warn you that it is a strictly decorative item and a collector's miniature. The handle and scabbard are made of plastic, and the weapon does not have a full tang (nakago) capable of withstanding impacts. This weapon is under no circumstances suitable for practical use, test cutting (tameshigiri), martial arts training, or contact fencing. Any strikes against objects or attempts at cutting would cause the plastic handle to shatter and the blade to fly out, posing a massive risk of injury.
Maintaining Your Collector's Sword
To keep your new mini katana looking fresh from the forge at all times, it requires minimal but regular care. The stainless steel blade is highly resistant to corrosion, but human sweat from fingerprints is acidic and can leave stains on the surface. After every handling, gently wipe the blade with a soft microfibre cloth. Occasionally, you can treat the steel with a tiny drop of gun oil. The plastic scabbard and handle simply need to be dusted with a dry cloth. Never clean the weapon with harsh chemical solvents, as this could damage the coloured details and the finish of the plastic parts.
