Decorative Anime Katana of the Mist Hashira with Geometric Guard
The Hero's Tale and the Symbolism of the Sword
In the popular manga and anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, elite demon slayers use special swords called Nichirin for combat. Muichiro Tokito, although very young, is an immensely talented master of Mist Breathing. His sword is easily recognisable thanks to the unique geometric guard (tsuba) and the engraving on the blade near the hilt, which traditionally proclaims the motto of the elite slayers: "Destroy Demons". The dark design of the handle combined with the green details perfectly reflects the cool, calm, yet lethally focused personality of this brilliant swordsman.
Construction and Craftsmanship of the Replica
The blade of this stylish katana is made of carbon steel and is complemented by a visually impressive Japanese engraving at the base of the blade (habaki). The handle (tsuka) features a solid plastic core that is covered with green faux leather, imitating the traditional texture of ray skin (samegawa). Tightly wrapped over this in the classic manner is a black faux leather cord (tsuka-ito). The main focal point is undoubtedly the distinct rectangular guard with square cut-outs, the edges of which stand out in a brassy gold colour. The wooden scabbard (saya) is finished in a smooth, matte black lacquer and is aesthetically capped with metal fittings (kojiri) at its end.
Principles of Safe Use and Warnings
Strong Warning: Although the blade is made of carbon steel, this sword is under no circumstances designed or suitable for practical use, martial arts, cutting tests (tameshigiri), or contact stage combat. The hard plastic handle is not built to absorb heavy impacts. Strong strikes pose a risk of irreversible damage to the sword and, most importantly, severe injury to yourself or bystanders. We strongly advise using this katana exclusively as a luxurious interior decoration or as a visually flawless prop for careful cosplay. Always keep the sword safely out of the reach of small children.
Caring for Your Katana
To ensure the sword maintains its flawless appearance even after many years, proper and regular maintenance is required. Carbon steel is a material that naturally succumbs to rust. For this reason, the blade must be protected from moisture and acidic sweat from hands. After every unsheathing, gently wipe the blade with a soft, dry cloth and apply a very thin layer of high-quality preservation oil (ideally silicone oil or traditional clove choji oil). The black wooden scabbard and the tsuba only need to be dusted with a dry microfibre cloth.
For an absolutely perfect display of this replica in your collection, we recommend purchasing a traditional black wooden single sword stand (kake), which will properly highlight your weapon in your interior.
