The Vikings relied on the axe as their absolutely most important tool for building the famous longships, surviving in harsh nature, and defending their homes. Safety Guidelines and Practical Use

Please note that although the axe head is robustly forged from carbon steel, for safety and overall structural reasons, this is a product unsuitable for heavy practical use. The weapon is under no circumstances intended for contact fencing (HEMA, buhurt, reenactment battles), target throwing, or heavy splitting of large logs. A strong impact against another steel weapon could damage the edge or dangerously loosen the handle. However, it serves perfectly as a detailed prop for LARP, a stunning accessory for your Cosplay, or, with careful handling, as a stylish tool for whittling branches by the evening campfire.

Caring for Carbon Steel and Natural Materials

Forged carbon steel has excellent properties, but unlike modern stainless alloys, it is naturally subject to corrosion. Never leave the axe in a damp environment and do not store it long-term enclosed within the leather sheath, as leather absorbs airborne moisture. After each use, wipe the blade carefully dry and preserve it with a thin layer of gun oil. It is advisable to occasionally treat the wooden handle and the leather sheath with natural linseed oil or high-quality leather balsam. This will prevent them from drying out and cracking, preserving their beautiful rustic appearance.
