Elven King's Sword, sharp, including sheath for left-handers

This fantasy sword features a truly unique and distinctive design that combines elegance with functionality.

Blade with Elven Grace

The weapon's dominant feature is its single-edged blade. It tapers slightly from the hilt, then widens into a deadly, cutting section with a pronounced belly before converging again to a sharp point. This shape, reminiscent of an elongated leaf, is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional—it shifts the centre of gravity forward, lending devastating power to cutting blows. The blade is made of spring steel (ČSN 14260) and oil-hardened to a solid hardness of approximately 53 HRC. This gives it great toughness and resistance to damage.

Golden Hilt

The sword's hilt is designed for a firm and secure grip. The wooden core is carefully wrapped in black leather with a prominent ribbing that prevents the hand from slipping. The hilt is protected by a simple, elegantly curved steel guard and finished with a massive steel pommel shaped like a stylized spade leaf. Both the guard and pommel have a shiny, gold-coloured finish, creating a beautiful contrast with the black handle and steel blade. The length of the hilt allows for comfortable one-handed or hand-and-a-half use.

How to Use the Sword?

  • Decoration: Hang the sword on your wall to add a touch of heroic fantasy to your home or office.
  • Costume Accessory: Whether you're heading to a LARP, a fantasy festival, or a costume party, this sword will perfectly complement your costume as an elf, ranger, or noble warrior.
  • Stage Combat: Order the version with a blunt blade (edge thickness of 2-3 mm) and a rounded tip, and you can safely start practicing duels and contact fencing.

Historical Inspiration

Although this is a fantasy weapon, its blade shape is strikingly reminiscent of historical weapons such as the Greek kopis or the Iberian falcata. These single-edged weapons, with their forward-shifted centre of balance, were feared in antiquity for their incredible cutting power. They could easily cleave through not only muscle and bone but also, reportedly, the armour and helmets of the time. An interesting fact is that Alexander the Great allegedly armed his cavalry with kopis-type swords, which gave them an advantage in man-to-man combat over straight swords. This sword is therefore a tribute to these effective and historically significant weapons, transported into the world of fantasy.

Caring for Your Sword

The blade is made of carbon spring steel (ČSN 14260), which is not stainless. To ensure your sword serves you for a long time without a blemish, follow these principles:

  • Wipe the blade dry with a soft cloth after each use.
  • Regularly coat the blade with a thin layer of oil (e.g., WD-40, mineral oil, or gun oil).
  • Store the sword in a dry environment. Long-term storage in a leather scabbard (which can retain moisture) is not recommended.
  • Any surface rust can be easily removed with a scouring pad or polishing paste.

Safety First

Remember that even a replica is still a weapon. While the sword's construction might allow for practical use, given that the manufacturer provides no warranty against breakage, we offer this weapon for purely decorative and collectible purposes.

  • Be extremely careful during any handling.
  • Avoid direct edge-to-edge blows. Parry strikes with the flat of the blade, as is historically accurate.
  • Before each use (including practice), carefully inspect the weapon for any damage. Immediately file down any nicks on the edge.
  • Never leave the sword unattended within the reach of children.
  • All use is entirely at your own risk.

The blade is stout! A much heavier weapon than I expected, but that is welcome! Quality throughout the construction. I am proud to wear this at my side
