Gothic Strength and Battlefield Versatility

The design of this sword draws directly from historical originals of the High to Late Middle Ages (14th to 15th centuries). During this era, the rapid evolution of plate armor demanded weapons with longer blades and extended hilts, enabling fighters to switch seamlessly between swift one-handed cuts and powerful two-handed strikes to breach armor. According to Oakeshott typology, the blade features a broad fuller along the upper third to reduce weight while preserving rigidity, making it a versatile war sword.

The downward-curved crossguard protects the wielder's hand while deflecting incoming enemy blades away from the hilt. A solid multi-faceted steel pommel serves as an excellent counterbalance to the 92 cm / 36.2 in blade, providing superior handling dynamics. The tang is encased in wood, tightly wrapped in genuine leather, and reinforced with wire binding to ensure a secure, non-slip grip even when wearing heavy leather gauntlets.

Naming this weapon Kenneth symbolizes leadership authority, steadfast courage, and warrior resolve—qualities reflected in the uncompromising design of this sword.

Care and Safety Instructions

The stage combat version features a blunt 2–3 mm edge and a rounded safety tip, making it suitable for contact sparring (Class B). Please note that this weapon is not designed for full-contact heavy armor combat such as Buhurt or Battle of the Nations. All activities with this sword are performed strictly at your own risk. Always parry incoming blows with the flat side of the blade rather than direct edge-to-edge impact. Execute strikes with proper, controlled sporting technique without excessive brute force.

CSN 14260 spring steel is not stainless. Thoroughly clean, dry, and coat the blade with protective mineral oil (such as Ballistol) after every use. Nicks along the edge are normal wear from sparring; inspect the blade before each practice and smooth out burrs using a diamond file or sandpaper. If the crossguard loosens over time, tighten the pommel or temporarily shim the gap with fishing line. Store safely out of reach of children in a dry location.
