Long Gambeson with buttons, natural
A gambeson is almost indispensable for re-enactment and medieval show fighting. The gambeson, also called aketon, padded jack or arming doublet was often worn underneath maille and plate armour. It made the wearing of these steel armours more comfortable for the knights. This Ulberth® gambeson is made from four layers cloth: two layers of a woolen padding, an outer layer of canvas (100% cotton) and an inner layer of soft cotton. Replicated after a late medieval arming jack this gambeson features a waisted cut and cloth-covered buttons.
