Long Gambeson with Detachable Sleeves and Leather, natural-brown
This gambeson from Ulfberth is made of three layers of fabric: an outer layer of cotton fabric (canvas), a polyester padding and a cotton lining. The stitching at the top of the body is diamond-shaped. The stitching is horizontal at the waist and vertical at the sides and arms. The gambeson fastens at the centre front with leather straps and metal buckles. The sleeves are fastened with inset straps and can be detached as required. The high collar immensely increases comfort when wearing the armor or chain mail around the neck. More information...

Gambeson is almost essential for showing off and free fighting. Gambeson, also known as gambison, armour or aceton, was worn under plate and ring armour in the Middle Ages. It made steel armour more comfortable to wear and could also cushion the enemy's blows, reducing the risk of injury.
