Universal Armour for Foot Soldiers and Riders

The gambeson is made of 100% cotton, including the internal padding. The outer fabric has a texture that faithfully mimics linen canvas, giving the armour an authentic historical appearance. The quilting is diamond-shaped, which not only looks good but also effectively holds the padding in place. The material thickness is approximately 6 mm (approx. 0.24 inches), ensuring sufficient shock absorption without unnecessary bulk. The cut is longer, with slits in the front and back for comfortable walking and riding.

The quality is great for the price, but the sizing chart listed in the product information is for the size of the product, not the size of the person wearing it. If you want to be able to put it on and take it off comfortably, I would recommend buying a size that is about 10 inches larger than your size.

This gambeson is a good choice for anyone trying to make an armor set from the 1240s. I recommend that you get a XXL though, because if you are trying to wear it over your armour as the people back then did, you will need the extra room. For context, this is not the type of gambeson that you would wear underneath your armour, if you are thinking of the 1240s, but rather, it is a kind that you wear over the top of your hauberk to add more protection. Be aware that this gambeson is very thin, and is more something that you would put on to just add a "little" bit more protection; it is not something like a breastplate. It is not intended to be very sturdy like another sleeveless gambeson that is offered on Outfit4Events and is made by Marshal Historical. This gambeson is also very cheap, but that does not mean that is it low quality. The product is actually very well made.

Sehr guter Gambeson. Er fühlt sich richtig gut an und gibt dir immer noch die Möglichkeit, dich so frei zu bewegen, als hättest du ihn gar nicht an. Ich empfehle die richtige Größe oder eine Größe weniger, weil der Gambeson bei 2 Größen immer noch gut passt, aber er wortwörtlich dann wie angegossen sitzt. Sprich : es ist dann eine Arbeit sich wieder heraus zu winden. Jedoch alles in allem ist der Gambeson sehr angenehm:)
