"White Dragon" Katana with Carbon Steel Blade
Symbolism and Design
The dominant feature of this sword is the wooden scabbard (saya) finished with glossy white lacquer. It features a detailed painting of a Japanese dragon (Ryu) in a traditional ink style. In Japanese culture, the dragon is a symbol of wisdom, strength, and protection, not evil. The handle (tsuka) is covered with imitation ray skin and wrapped with black cotton cord (ito), revealing gold ornaments (menuki) underneath. The guard (tsuba) is round, with relief decoration and a gold rim that matches the blade collar (habaki).
Blade Material and Maintenance
The blade is made of carbon steel. Unlike stainless steel, this material has better mechanical properties and can be sharpened better, but it is prone to corrosion. A visible temper line (hamon) gives the blade an authentic look. Since the steel is not stainless, it is necessary to treat the blade regularly with oil (e.g., clove oil) to prevent it from rusting due to humidity or touch.

Note: The wooden box in which the sword is delivered serves only as protective packaging for transport. Any minor damage to the box during transport is not grounds for a claim regarding the product itself.
A black wooden stand would be a perfect match for this sword, allowing the white scabbard with the dragon to stand out beautifully.
