Brown Tall Viking Leather Boots With Toggle Fastening
Historical Design And Proper Footwear Adjustment
The Early Middle Ages and the harsh Scandinavian climate required footwear that protects the foot while adapting well to it. Fastening via leather straps and toggles represents a highly flexible period system. If you find the boot too tight or loose across the instep or shin after putting it on, you can easily adjust it to fit. Simply loosen the knots on the leather straps leading to the buttons (an ordinary nail, fork, or awl works perfectly for this) and individually shorten or lengthen them. To ensure you have a sure step in battles and on long marches, the boot is equipped on the bottom with a solid rubber sole featuring a distinct anti-slip pattern.

Leather Care And Safety Warnings
Regular care is essential to maintain the leather's durability and suppleness. The boots are treated with a beeswax balm during production. Regularly remove dried mud and dust, and grease them with a high-quality leather balm or cobbler's oil. This softens and waterproofs the leather, giving it a richer patina. With any opaque colour finishes, keep in mind that under high stress, minor cracks may form over time. If rain catches you on an expedition, stuff the footwear with old newspaper and let it dry very slowly at room temperature. Never dry the boots on a radiator, too close to a fire, or in harsh, direct sunlight! Rapid drying would irreversibly damage the leather.
Recommended Accessories
To achieve an absolutely perfect period look and thermal comfort, we highly recommend purchasing medieval linen or woollen trousers and traditional leg wraps (puttees) to go with these boots, reinforcing your calf and giving your costume that true Norse character.
