Viking Vendel Inspired Blackened Steel Helmet with Padded Liner 16 Gauge

Our Viking Vendel helmet is HANDMADE from 16-gauge mild steel, lined with a padded liner (made of a thick layer of padding sandwiched between thick, high-quality canvas). The (24x21) cm base makes room for a maximum head circumference of 68 cm. The eye guard is 16.5 cm wide with a 12.5 cm long nasal. The eye slits are (6.6x3.1) cm. A leather strap and steel buckle closure. The total height is 29.2 cm with a 17 cm high cap/skull and 12.5 cm x 14.3 cm cheek plates. Weighs about 2 Kg 588 grams.

Note: This product is carefully coated with a layer of oil when packaged that acts as a temporary (protective) layer against corrosion (rust), which can easily be wiped off using any oil remover or even a dry cloth.

Our reproduction is loosely inspired by original helmets found in the sites of Vendel, Uppland located on the eastern coast of Sweden. Typically made from iron by the people of that age, these helmets share a close resemblance with the helmets of the Late Roman Age, portraying them as a form of transition helmets between the Late Roman Period and the Viking period. Our reproduction is ideal for early medieval or Viking warrior ensembles in your next evocation, fair or Viking LARP.
