Construction and Walking Safety

The boots are meticulously sewn from sturdy full-grain cowhide leather, which will keep your ankle secure even when running over uneven ground. Historical leather footwear with a smooth sole tends to be very slippery and dangerous on modern surfaces (such as wet grass, cobblestones, or asphalt). Therefore, this model is equipped with a modern thin rubber sole, which guarantees a safe and confident stride. The closure on the outer side of the leg using leather toggles and straps allows you to tighten the boot well according to the circumference of your calf.

Caring for Light Leather

To ensure your leather boots serve you for a long time and retain their elasticity, they require regular care. After every use, clean off any mud with a damp cloth and let them air dry naturally at room temperature. Never dry them on a radiator or by a fire, as the leather would harden and crack! Subsequently, treat the footwear with a beeswax leather balm or high-quality oil. Please note that applying balm or oil will permanently give light natural leather a darker, richer shade. This is a natural characteristic of the material, which additionally gives the boots a beautiful patina. Scuffs can be corrected with a suitably coloured shoe polish.

Size Options and Custom Tailoring

The footwear is supplied in standard EU sizes. If you have an atypical foot, we can manufacture the boots directly to measure for you. The total height of the boot including the sole is fixed at approximately 25 cm (9.8 inches), and unfortunately, this parameter cannot be altered. Crucial information for those interested in custom-made boots: if you wear orthopaedic insoles, it is absolutely essential to send them to us before production begins. The shoemaker will precisely incorporate them into the boots to ensure you have the certainty of an absolutely perfect fit.
