The historical inspiration for this Crusader replica dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries, the golden age of the Crusades. According to the Oakeshott typology, the weapon corresponds most closely to Type X or XI, which were characterised by a broad fuller to reduce the blade's weight and parallel edges. This specific model is named in honour of Godefroy de Saint-Omer, one of the original French knights and founding members of the Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon in 1119. The sword is crafted in his honour to commemorate the determination and strength of the first Templars.

Construction and Detailed Craftsmanship

The blade, featuring a wide fuller, is made from mild steel. The grip features a sturdy wooden core that is masterfully wrapped in dark brown braided leather cord, ensuring a firm and comfortable hold. A striking visual element is the solid crossguard and the massive octagonal pommel cast from brass. Both the crossguard and the pommel are decorated on both sides with typical Templar crosses, strikingly highlighted with red enamel. The set also includes a robust scabbard; its main body is covered in black leather, while the lower chape section is elegantly finished with a brown leather band. An integrated carrying belt with a brass buckle is attached directly to the scabbard.

To ensure the mild steel blade retains its original shine and resists corrosion, we recommend that you regularly preserve it with a suitable gun oil. The leather parts of the grip and scabbard should occasionally be treated with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax to prevent drying and cracking.
