Craftsmanship and Materials
Both tools are made entirely of carbon steel, which ensures excellent strength and easy sharpening. The handle scales are made of walnut wood, firmly riveted to the handle with two rivets, giving the tools a robust look and a pleasant grip. The set includes a double leather sheath made of brown leather, allowing both tools to be carried simultaneously on a belt.
Usage and History
In the High Middle Ages, using a fork as we know it today was not common. The pricker (a precursor to the fork) served to stab pieces of meat from a bowl, while the knife was the main tool for cutting. This combination was standard equipment for every pilgrim, soldier, and citizen.

Product Care
Since the set is made of carbon steel, it requires regular maintenance to prevent corrosion. After each use, especially after cutting food, thoroughly wash the tools with water, dry them, and rub with edible oil or fat. We recommend occasionally treating the wooden handles with beeswax or linseed oil to maintain their color and durability. Keep the leather sheath clean and treat it with a leather conditioner to keep it supple.
Safety Warning
The tools are delivered as sharp and functional replicas. Use them with extreme caution to prevent injury. Keep the cutlery out of reach of children and never place the tools in a dishwasher, which would lead to irreparable damage to both wood and steel. Do not use the knife or pricker for prying, as there is a risk of breaking the tip or blade.
