From a historical perspective, this product is based on the early medieval Carolingian-type swords, which were widely used across Northern and Western Europe roughly from the 8th to the 11th century. Typologically, it is a weapon whose hilt, with its characteristic features and ornamentation, strongly resembles swords of Type O or S according to Petersen's typology. These bladed weapons served not only as lethal tools on the battlefield but primarily as vital status symbols for their owners. The bearer of such a sword had to be an exceptionally wealthy warrior or a member of a royal retinue. The broad fuller on the blade was not merely decorative; its purpose was to reduce the weapon's weight while maintaining structural integrity, which allowed for faster and more fluid sweeping cuts.

Proper Care for High Carbon Steel
To ensure this magnificent sword serves as your pride and joy for as long as possible, proper maintenance is essential. 1095 steel is highly susceptible to rust if exposed to moisture or the acidic sweat from human hands. After every handling or unsheathing, we strongly recommend carefully wiping the blade with a dry cloth and treating it with a thin layer of quality gun oil (e.g., Ballistol) or microcrystalline wax. Never store the sword permanently in a damp environment, and avoid leaving the blade in the leather scabbard for extended periods without prior oiling, as the leather can absorb and retain moisture from the air.
