Forged Spearhead – Leaf Shape (30 cm)
History and Construction
The spear was the most widespread weapon in history. It was cheap to produce and effective in combat against both cavalry and infantry. This particular model features a classic leaf-shaped blade, popular for its cutting and piercing capabilities. The socket (the part where the shaft fits) features a historically accurate split (seam). This detail is not a manufacturing defect but a functional feature that allowed for a more flexible adaptation to the shaft diameter and a tighter grip on the wood.
The head is made of carbon steel and is finished with a blunt, rounded tip. This visually makes it a safe variant, however, it comes without a warranty for contact combat.
Installation on the Shaft
To complete the spear, you will need an ash wood shaft. The end of the shaft must be tapered to a conical shape to match the inner shape of the socket. Once fitted, the head is secured with a nail or rivet through the pre-drilled hole in the socket. Thanks to the split socket, the diameter can be slightly adjusted (approx. 26–28 mm / 1.0–1.1 inches).

Safety and Classification
Class C according to weapon classification for fencing – Product without warranty!
Although the spearhead is blunt and has a rounded tip (parameters consistent with safe fencing), the manufacturer does not provide any service or warranty against damage during combat for this weapon. For this reason, we offer it exclusively as a decorative item unsuitable for practical use in fencing or stage combat. More information on weapon classification can be found here.
Maintenance
Since it is made of carbon steel, it is prone to corrosion. You may receive the item with a light layer of protective oil or minor traces of surface rust, which is a natural property of the material. For maintenance, we recommend:
- Regularly treat the metal with oil (WD-40, gun oil, or synthetic oil).
- Store in a dry place.
- Remove any rust with a fine abrasive pad and re-oil.
