A Blend of Japanese Forging Tradition and Wild Anime
Traditional Japanese swords (nihonto) are characterised by perfect, clean lines, but this piece draws inspiration from modern anime, where it reflects the wild and untamed nature of its owner. In the original story, the chipped blade is used for brutal tearing rather than clean slicing. Even though its size corresponds more to an historical tanto dagger, it retains the profile of a Japanese blade. An interesting feature is the complete absence of a handguard (tsuba), which is typical for this specific type of sword. The handle (tsuka) and scabbard (saya) are covered with an imitation of a rough white bandage instead of the traditional wrap, giving the entire set an unmistakable rustic look.
Safety Guidelines and Strict Warnings
Although the blade is forged from 420 stainless steel, we must strongly emphasise that this is a strictly decorative collectable miniature. The handle and scabbard are made of plastic, and the weapon does not possess a full tang (nakago) to absorb impacts. Under no circumstances is this weapon intended for practical use, test cutting (tameshigiri), martial arts training, or contact fencing. Dry swinging or striking obstacles would inevitably lead to the plastic handle cracking and the blade flying loose, which presents a massive risk of serious injury.
Maintaining Your Collectable Weapon
To keep your anime sword miniature looking great at all times, it requires at least basic care. The stainless steel resists corrosion excellently, but human sweat from fingerprints is acidic and can leave stains on the surface over time. Always gently wipe the blade with a soft microfibre cloth after handling. Occasionally, you can treat the steel with a tiny drop of gun oil. The white plastic scabbard and handle simply need to be dusted with a dry cloth. Never clean the weapon with harsh chemical solvents, as this could irreversibly damage the texture of the white bandaging and the finish on the blade.
We highly recommend purchasing a second identical miniature to complete the set of dual swords, exactly as proudly wielded by the hero himself.
