Tactical Carbon Steel Broadsword with Anti-Slip Grip and Scabbard

The Fusion of History and Modern Tactical Design

From a historical perspective, the geometry of this blade is based on late medieval swords, which in the Oakeshott typology would most closely align with a Type XVIII. These weapons were characterised by a broad base that tapered smoothly to a sharp point, allowing for both effective cuts and devastating thrusts against armour. This model brings proven medieval geometry into the 21st century using modern tactical materials. Traditional leather and wood on the hilt have been replaced by Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR), which provides unparalleled grip and weather resistance. Both the pommel and the crossguard are crafted from satin-finished stainless steel, giving the weapon a sleek yet purely functional industrial appearance.

Safety Warnings and Practical Use

This weapon is supplied with a razor-sharp blade! For safety reasons, it is therefore completely unsuitable for contact fencing, LARP battles, or historical European martial arts (HEMA) sparring. Using a sharp blade against another person, even with the best protective equipment, risks fatal injury. The weapon is designed primarily as a collector's item and a fully functional tool for cutting tests (tameshigiri) on appropriate targets, such as tatami mats or water-filled plastic bottles. Always exercise extreme caution during handling and ensure the safety of yourself and your surroundings.

Carbon Steel Care and Maintenance

The blade is forged from 1060 carbon steel. This steel is highly valued in sword-making for its flexibility and edge retention, but it is not rust-proof. To ensure your sword serves you well for a long time, it requires regular maintenance. After every touch with a bare hand and after any cutting practice, the blade must be wiped dry and preserved with a thin layer of suitable oil. This prevents ambient moisture and acidic human sweat from causing surface corrosion. For long-term storage, we recommend keeping the sword outside its scabbard, or ensuring that the inside of the scabbard does not trap moisture.
