Leather components (lacing and straps) should be treated occasionally with a leather balm containing beeswax to keep them supple and prevent cracking.
Always prioritise your safety and the safety of those around you. Regularly inspect the integrity of the leather lacing and rivets. Do not use the armour if it shows signs of mechanical damage or if the straps are brittle. Avoid excessive bending of the scales, as this could lead to deformation or damage to the lacing.
