Functional Design and Fantasy Aesthetic
These vambraces are crafted from high-quality, heavy leather capable of withstanding the rigours of an adventurous life. Their construction consists of three overlapping plates firmly riveted together. This layering ensures not only greater durability but also an attractive appearance reminiscent of dragon scales or insect carapace. The shape is anatomically tapered towards the wrist, ensuring comfortable wear and freedom of movement for your hand.
Fastening is achieved using adjustable straps and metal buckles on the inner side. This makes the vambraces one size fits most, allowing you to tighten them exactly as needed, whether worn on bare skin or over the sleeve of a tunic or gambeson. The deep green colour adds a touch of elegance and mystery to the armour.

History and LARP Usage
Vambraces were historically a crucial part of a warrior's protection, shielding vulnerable forearms from sword strikes. While historical originals were often metal or boiled leather, in the fantasy genre, leather has become the domain of rangers, scouts, and elves who prefer silent movement and speed over heavy armour. The green colour in this context symbolises a connection with the forest.
Please keep in mind that this is costume armour designed for LARP and stage combat. Although heavy leather provides good protection against foam weapons, the vambraces are not certified as protective gear for full-contact combat with steel weapons (such as Buhurt) and do not guarantee protection against injury in such use.
Care for Leather Equipment
To ensure your vambraces remain supple and beautiful for as long as possible, give them a little care:
- Allow them to air dry at room temperature after each use. Avoid direct heat (radiators, fire), which dries out the leather and makes it brittle.
- Regularly treat them with leather care products containing beeswax or lanolin.
- Wipe off any dirt with a damp cloth and then impregnate the leather.
To create a complete set, we recommend purchasing the matching leather greaves in the same design and colour to complement these vambraces.
