Designed for Historically Accurate Belts (Cingulum)
One of the most remarkable details of this replica is its design for belts with a tapered end, which was typical for Roman military belts (`cingulum militare`). While the body of the buckle is intended for a belt up to 4.5 cm (1 ¾ in) wide, the tongue is designed for holes in a narrower, tapered section of the belt measuring about 3 cm (1 ⅛ in). This feature is key to achieving maximum historical accuracy for your costume.
Easy and Secure Installation
The hinged plate at the end of the buckle has two holes for a reliable attachment to a leather belt. For the strongest and most authentic connection, we recommend using two saddler's rivets (e.g., 9 mm). Simply punch holes in the leather, insert the rivets, and peen them on the reverse side.
Note: Fastening hardware (rivets) is not included.
