Straight Blade vs. Curved Katana

Unlike the curved katana designed for slicing, the straight Ninjato was optimized for quick draws and thrusting attacks in confined spaces. The distinctive square tsuba (guard) is also faithfully reproduced. In folklore, ninjas used this sturdy guard as a step to scale walls or spot enemies over fences.

At 88 cm (approx. 34.6 inches), this sword is shorter than a standard bokken. This compact size offers distinct advantages:

This sword is crafted from hardwood and finished with a black lacquer.

• Handle with Care: Although it has no sharp edge, it is a solid piece of wood. Strikes can cause injury. Always practice with control.
• Durability: The black lacquer gives a sleek appearance but may chip if used for full-contact duelling against other hard objects. It is best suited for solo forms (Kata), drills, and cosplay.
