Gothic French belt pouch
The model of the original Gothic French belt pouch comes from Toulon, a harbour town in France. The used model was common is the 16th century. This was the period when the craftsman technology of pressing leather into various moulds emerged. The front part is pressed out of a single piece of leather on the form called last in order to achieve a desired shape of the bag. The belt pouch is made of up to 3mm thick smooth cowhide. Gothic French belt pouch
The bag's flap is decorated with ornamental lines engraved in the leather. Stylised flowers attached to the flap with copper rivets are another decoration of the belt pouch. The Gothic French belt pouch is worn suspended on two loops. It fits the belt's width of up to 6cm. At your request we can produce longer loops. Besides the colour shown in the picture the belt pouch is available in other colours: see the choice of colour.
