During the High and Late Gothic periods (13th to 15th centuries), leather belt pouches and purses were an absolutely indispensable part of everyday attire. Because medieval tunics, hose, and cloaks lacked internal pockets, all daily equipment was carried suspended from the waist. The rounded shape of this bag was immensely popular across various social classes for its practicality and elegant silhouette. The pouch did not merely serve as a purse but concealed everyday personal items – from a fire striker and tinder to small valuables. How to Properly Attach and Use the Pouch

Attaching the pouch to your gear is quick and absolutely intuitive. On the back, you will find two firmly attached leather loops through which you simply thread your belt. The loops are generous enough to easily accommodate massive historical straps with a width of up to 5 centimetres (nearly 2 inches). Access to both internal compartments is secured by the front flap with its authentic leather toggle. For maximum comfort when walking and sitting, we recommend sliding the pouch slightly to the side of your belt towards the hip, where it will not be in your way while remaining easily accessible at all times.

This product is handmade from high-quality genuine cowhide leather. Minor natural variations in colour and surface texture are characteristic properties of this material and make each piece a unique original. To ensure the leather maintains its strength, flexibility, and resistance to the elements over the long term, it requires regular care. We recommend treating the entire pouch at least once a season, or after getting wet in the rain, with a high-quality leather balm based on beeswax. Never dry the leather near a direct heat source (radiator, hairdryer, the open flames of a campfire), otherwise it could harden, become brittle, and crack.

Crucial Warnings

The bag is precisely stitched from thick leather; however, keep in mind that it is designed as a clothing accessory for storing standard personal items. Never overload it with excessively heavy loads (such as a large quantity of lead bullets or stones) to prevent the loops from tearing out. Additionally, protect the leather fastening elements from unnecessary friction against the sharp edges of your plate armour.
