Medieval Leather Vambraces with Fleur-de-Lis and Buckles
Historical Context and Leather Armour Application
The heraldic lily has been one of the most widely used noble emblems since the Early Middle Ages, most frequently associated with the French crown, purity, and chivalric virtues. Leather arm guards with similarly rich brass fittings perfectly fit the aesthetics of the High Middle Ages and the early Renaissance. Today, you will perfectly utilise these decorated leather vambraces during LARP events, cosplay, or light stage fencing practice. They serve excellently to dampen blows and protect the forearms from abrasions. The guards are fastened directly to the arm using three straps. However, for safety reasons, we point out that this is not certified protective armour suitable for hard full-contact combat with steel weapons (buhurt, full-contact HEMA). For greater comfort and better shock absorption, we recommend wearing the vambraces over a padded gambeson or the sleeve of a thick linen shirt.

Proper Care for Leather Accessories
To ensure the thick cowhide lasts a long time and retains its suppleness and beautiful appearance, it must be cared for regularly. Occasionally treat the entire leather surface, including the fastening straps, with a high-quality leather balsam containing beeswax. Do not wash the armour in a washing machine and avoid soaking it unnecessarily in water. Never dry the armour near an open fire or on a radiator; rapid drying would irreversibly destroy the natural material and cause it to crack. If you are caught in a heavy downpour at an event, let the vambraces dry slowly and naturally at standard room temperature.
To accompany this pair of vambraces, we recommend purchasing an elegant leather belt with a brass buckle from our range, creating a perfectly coordinated set with the guards.
