Symbolism of Poverty and Combat

The main motif of this breastplate is a detailed black etching of the Templar Seal (Sigillum Militum Xpisti) placed on the left side of the chest (over the heart). The motif depicts two knights riding a single horse, symbolizing the Order's original poverty and brotherhood in arms. A smaller cross pattée is placed at the bottom of the breastplate. Although the breastplate has the shape of late medieval plate armor (with a distinct central ridge for deflecting blows), which historical Templars in the 12th and 13th centuries did not yet wear, it is an impressive romantic stylization that pays tribute to their legacy.

Material and Craftsmanship

The breastplate is made of 0.8 mm thick iron sheet. The surface is treated with a special lacquered patina that imitates the look of highly polished steel and protects the metal from corrosion. This makes the armor practically maintenance-free and permanently shiny.

Important Note on Usage

It must be emphasized that this breastplate is a strictly decorative item.

• Not intended for fencing: The material thickness of 0.8 mm will not withstand weapon strikes and would deform.
• Not intended for wearing: The armor has no padding, and the fastening system is designed primarily for hanging or display. The size corresponds to approx. size M, but without a backplate and custom shaping, wearing it is not comfortable.
• Package contents: The delivery includes only the front breastplate.

Maintenance

To maintain the shine, simply wipe the breastplate regularly with a dry, soft cloth to remove dust. Do not use water or abrasive cleaning agents to avoid damaging the decorative etching and the protective lacquer.
