Flail with Synthetic Spiked Ball
Are you preparing for a costume event, LARP, or theater performance and need a weapon that looks dangerous but won't weigh you down? This flail with a synthetic "Morning Star" ball is the ideal choice. While all-metal originals can weigh several kilograms, this clever replica weighs only approx. 370 grams (0.8 lbs). This allows you to carry it on your belt all day without fatigue, while your costume of a Hussite, rebel peasant, or brigand remains looking authentic. It is based on historical weapons used during the Peasant Wars, when common people modified agricultural tools into deadly arms. Further product information ...

Flail with Synthetic Spiked Ball – Peasant War Replica
Visual Deception: Wood, Metal, and Modern Materials
At first glance, this weapon is indistinguishable from a metal original. The handle is made of quality turned wood with a dark finish, giving it a historical feel. The chain is solid iron, and the connection to the shaft is covered by a decorative leather cuff. However, the spiked striking ball itself is made of hard, non-malleable synthetic material (rigid resin) in black. This ensures low weight while maintaining a massive appearance. There is a loop with a ring at the end of the handle for suspension.
History: The Tool That Changed Warfare
Flails experienced a renaissance in the hands of the Hussites and later during the German Peasant Wars in the 16th century. The tactical advantage of the moving head on a chain was its ability to swing over the edge of a shield and strike a covered opponent. Although originally weapons of the poor, their effectiveness earned them a place in the armories of professional soldiers too. This replica allows you to commemorate this history without having to drag heavy iron around.

Usage and Safety Warning
This flail is designed primarily as a costume prop and decoration. Although the ball is plastic, the material is very hard and rigid. Therefore, it is not suitable for full-contact LARP combat, as it could cause injury to an opponent or the material could crack upon impact with hard armour. The manufacturer does not guarantee against damage caused by use in combat. For maintenance, simply wipe the wood and plastic with a damp cloth and keep the iron chain dry.
