Knightly Dagger Lancelot with Wire-Wrapped Handle and Scabbard
Detailed Craftsmanship Inspired by Legends
The dagger is designed with an emphasis on aesthetics. The blade, made of 420 stainless steel, is polished to a mirror shine. The handle is wrapped in silver-toned wire, ensuring a firm grip whilst highlighting the luxurious look of the weapon. The crossguard ends in stylized beast heads (likely wolves or dragons) and bears a heraldic shield in the centre. The pommel is shaped like an open helmet or crown, referencing Lancelot's high status.
The package includes a black scabbard with fittings in an antique brass finish. The scabbard throat features a detailed relief depicting a knight in full armour on a rearing horse and the inscription "LANCELOT". The chape (tip) of the scabbard is decorated with heraldic motifs of a cross and fleur-de-lis.
Lancelot and the Arthurian Legends
This weapon bears the name of the knight introduced into literature by the French poet Chrétien de Troyes in the 12th century. Lancelot was a paragon of virtue and an invincible warrior, whose fate, however, was complicated by his forbidden love for Queen Guinevere. Stories of his adventures and the quest for the Holy Grail are among the pillars of medieval European literature. This dagger is a symbolic reminder of these immortal tales.
Maintenance and Care
Since the blade is made of stainless steel, it is very resistant to rust. Nevertheless, we recommend wiping the blade with a dry cloth after every touch to prevent fingerprints. You can occasionally treat the metal parts of the handle and scabbard with silicone oil to maintain their shine. Never wash the dagger with water and do not expose it to prolonged moisture to avoid damaging the scabbard material.
Safety Warning
This dagger is strictly a decorative item. While stainless steel is hard, it is brittle, and the blade could snap upon impact. Therefore, it is not suitable for contact fencing, chopping, or throwing. It serves as a costume accessory or for display purposes.
