By the high middle ages, Viking swords had begun to lose some of their more characteristic features like the wide, low-tapering blade and the lobed pommel. Viking swords began to look more like the characteristic longswords of the Middle Ages. This true to original replica has replaced the lobe pommel with the brazil-nut shape and the short, thick guard of earlier weapons has thinned and extended into a characteristic medieval cruciform. Late Viking Era Sword with scabbard, Class C

The spring steel blade is oil-tempered to approx. 48° Rockwell and has a distinctive fuller which offers both great flexibility and a lesser weight. The edges of the blade are blunt and the tip is rounded for safety. The beautiful wooden scabbard is leather-wrapped and features a wooden belt loop (max. belt width 5cm) as well as a richly adorned brass chape. This is the practical blunt battle-ready version of this Viking sword!
