The History Of Pouches And Their Invaluable Use
Before pockets were sewn directly into clothing, a simple drawstring pouch was an absolute necessity for storing and carrying personal valuables. It served not only as a "wallet" for copper or silver coins but also held tinder and flint, lead bullets, dice for passing the time by the campfire, or personal amulets. This set of five leather pouches is extremely popular among LARP organisers for creating game packages (so-called loot), but every re-enactor will also appreciate them for organising small items in the camp. Colour Selection And Natural Leather Properties
The set standardly includes a mix of random colours and textures (smooth and brushed leather) depending on the saddler's current material availability—from black through various shades of brown to natural light. If you have a specific idea for the colour composition (e.g., "I want 2 black and 3 brown"), do not forget to state this in the order notes, and we will try to accommodate you as much as possible. Please bear in mind that leather is a natural material. Minor variations in shade or natural surface texture are not a defect, but rather proof of the material's authenticity and hand-crafting, making each individual pouch an absolute original.
Leather Pouch Care
To ensure the pouches serve you for a long time and the leather doesn't crack, we recommend occasionally treating the smooth leather gently with a high-quality leather balm containing beeswax. Do not apply balm to brushed leather (suede) pouches; only clean them dry with a soft brush. Never put sharp or unwrapped pointed objects into the pouches, and do not store loose chemical dyes or aggressive liquids in them, as these could irreversibly damage the material.
