The body is made from genuine suede leather approximately 1.3–1.5 mm thick. This flexible material forms characteristic folds and expands naturally around the contents. The upper section is reinforced with smooth leather and secured by metal rivets. Two durable leather cords pass through the front tab, serving as both the closure and the means of attaching the pouch to a belt.

How to Use the Drawstring Pouch

Before running or taking part in an active event, check the knot carefully and avoid overloading the pouch with heavy or sharp objects.

Drawstring purses and belt pouches were common items of personal equipment in Europe, particularly from the 13th to the 15th century. As medieval garments generally lacked modern sewn-in pockets, people carried coins, seals, gaming pieces and everyday necessities in pouches suspended from their belts. Simple leather purses were used by townspeople, merchants, craftsmen, pilgrims and soldiers alike.

This pouch is not presented as a reconstruction of one specific archaeological find. Instead, it follows the broadly historical principle of a soft leather bag closed by cords. Its understated black finish makes it suitable for Viking-inspired, medieval and fantasy costume combinations.

Leather Care and Safe Use

• Remove dust and light dirt with a dry cloth or a soft brush intended for suede.
• Do not wash, soak or machine-clean the pouch.
• Avoid harsh chemicals and ordinary leather grease on the suede surface.
• When damp, empty the pouch and allow it to air-dry naturally at room temperature.
• Do not dry it on a radiator, beside an open fire or in direct sunlight.
• The smooth leather cords may occasionally be treated with a small amount of suitable leather conditioner.
• Do not carry unprotected sharp objects, liquids, food or hot items inside the pouch.
• Check the belt knot before running, fighting or taking part in other active LARP scenes.

Genuine leather is a natural material. Slight variations in colour, grain and surface texture are therefore normal and make every pouch subtly unique.

We recommend pairing the pouch with a medieval leather belt inspired by the 13th to 15th century, a brass or bronze historical buckle, replica coins and a small set of gaming dice. For a fuller LARP or fantasy outfit, add a larger belt bag, a key hanger or a leather bottle holder.
